Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He blends soul gospel jazz with R&B to create a unique mixture. She has performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta however, she comes from Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing the piano in the church. She studied at Spellman College and began to study the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. The very debut song featuring her voice was called Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 track. Since then, it was remixed and has become a component of her repertoire. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. In 2005, she was the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) was approached for a position as choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
